Marshmallow Laser Feast

Mapping storage and planning render capacity.

We deployed StudioOps to connect MLF’s tools, map its storage and help the studio plan future render requirements.

The challenge

MLF’s production information was spread across studio tools and storage systems. Planning render capacity meant bringing that information together and understanding what was already stored.

What changed

The studio could use the tool to plan potential infrastructure requirements over 6, 12 and 24 months, at both project and studio level.

What END delivered

  • Studio-tool integration and storage mapping
  • Identification of duplicate and undocumented files
  • Project and studio render-capacity planning

We connected the tools, mapped storage and identified duplicate and undocumented files. Combined snapshots gave the studio a view across those systems. The pilot then developed into a tool for planning project and studio render capacity.

Making Of the Oak

MLF’s film follows the scanning, sound recording and production of Of the Oak. It illustrates the studio’s creative practice; END’s work was on studio operations.
